Downspout Installation and Rerouting in Northern Cambria, PA

A gutter only collects water. The downspout decides where it ends up. Put one in the wrong spot and you get a frozen sidewalk in winter, a washed-out flower bed, or a wet basement corner every spring.

Standard downspouts are 2x3 inch rectangular aluminum. Larger roofs and 6-inch gutters get 3x4 inch, which moves close to twice the water. A common rule of thumb is one downspout for every 30 to 40 feet of gutter, plus one at the low end of any run that takes water from a valley.

Northern Cambria, PA Gutter Installation crews in Northern Cambria, PA add new outlets where the gutter is overloaded and reroute existing downspouts that dump onto driveways, patios or the foundation. Rerouting often means cutting a new outlet into the gutter, sealing the old hole with a patch and sealant, and running the downspout around a corner with A and B elbows.

Common reasons to move a downspout:

• It drains onto a walkway that ices over
• It empties next to the foundation where the soil slopes toward the house
• A deck or addition went in where the old one used to drain

Gutter installation and downspout layout should be planned together. Call (833) 941-1503 to get downspouts placed right on your home in Northern Cambria, PA.
